Monticello
Monticello [Monticello] BrE NAmE
the home of US President Thomas Jefferson, on a hill near Charlottesville, ↑Virginia. Jefferson himself designed it in the ↑neoclassical style, and it was completed in 1809. He lived there for 56 years and is buried there. It became a National Shrine in 1926 and a ↑World Heritage Site in 1987.
