Comic Relief [Comic Relief] BrE NAmE
a British charity organization that was started by a group of comedy actors to raise money for poor people and people with special disadvantages. Once every two years there are comedy programmes on television in which the actors and ↑presenters ask people to send money for various charities. On the same day people do silly or amusing things to raise money.
