1. 1 a city on the River Wye in the west of England near the border with Wales. Its cathedral contains the ↑Mappa Mundi, a very old map of the world.
2. 2 noun a type of cow bred for its meat. Hereford ↑cattle are usually reddish in colour with a white head. They were originally developed around Hereford.
